Disappointed by Hidden Fees and Misleading Advertising
I came to Storage King expecting to pay around $20 for my unit with their advertised 50% off special for the first month. Instead, I was charged close to $80 after numerous fees were added at checkout that were never disclosed upfront or during my online reservation.
When I questioned the 50% discount, I was told it didn't apply because I was renting on December 2nd and that wasnt a full month. Seriously? I've rented from several storage facilities before, and they've always honored their promotional rates regardless of the day of the month you start. Its one day after the 1st. Thats ridiculous.
This felt like a classic bait and switch tactic.
The lack of transparency about fees and the unwillingness to honor the advertised promotion left a very bad impression. I had planned to store my belongings here for at least six months, but because of this experience, I'll only be staying one month and taking my business elsewhere.
If you're considering Storage King, make sure you get every single fee in writing before committing. The advertised price is not what you'll actually pay.
